Can a group of youths affected by neurodivergence manage a high-profile culinary project? Working at the Alamesa restaurant, the participants test their limits by facing the challenge of not using flames, knives or food scales. Devised by Fernando Polack, an infectious diseases specialist who was inspired by the experience of a father whose daughter suffered from pervasive developmental disorder, he created the restaurant, as an answer to the lack of social and working opportunities for neurodivergent youths. Therefore, the restaurant (set in the Cañitas neighborhood of Buenos Aires) was adapted to the youth’s needs in every work environment inside the building, from the kitchen to table service. This movie clearly shows what real inclusion means.
