In a small Serbian city, day laborer Nikola is forced by social services to give his two children up after poverty and hunger have pushed his wife to commit a desperate act. In order to get them back, Nikola decides to cross all of Serbia on foot to present his case directly in Belgrade. Based on a real story, the act of walking in this movie becomes a gesture of protest and freedom to have people’s rights acknowledged.
Srdan Golubovic (Belgrade, Serbia, 1972) debuted with the feature film Absolute 100, presented in numerous international festivals such as Rotterdam and Toronto.
