On Friday 2 October at 6 p.m., Job Film Days, in collaboration with Archivio Nazionale Cinematografico della Resistenza and Unione Culturale Franco Antonicelli, presents In the Belly of AI by Henri Poulain. A journey into the hidden side of artificial intelligence, revealing the invisible labour of millions of people preparing data to feed Big Tech algorithms. Through testimonies gathered in different countries, the film exposes the human and environmental cost of the technological revolution and questions the myth of progress without consequences.
Followed by a discussion with Corrado Borsa (Archivio Nazionale Cinematografico della Resistenza) and Claudio Panella (Università di Torino, Research Group on Labour, Industry, Technology and the Humanities – GRILITS).

With the documentary Les sacrifiés de l’IA, French director Henri Poulain investigates the side unseen from artificial intelligence, unmasking the human and environmental sacrifice that hides behind the promise of an omnipotent technology. While the Silicon Valley giants celebrate the advent of a new era, millions of invisible workers feed the Big Tech algorithms through an exhausting preparation work of data, paying a heavy price in terms of mental and emotional health. They are hidden in the belly of artificial intelligence.
This is an investigative documentary shot in many countries that gathers testimonies and disputes about the myth of technological progress and the ideologies that support it.
Henri Poulain. Author and director of audiovisual shows, documentaries, tv series, with his production company Story Circus, he specialized in the creation of works based on themes that faces significant social issues. In the first part of his career, between the mid-1970s and 2020, he was active on the production of various tv series. His debut feature, Démocratie(s)?, also dates to 2020.
