We never saw some of their faces, we never heard some of their names. Yet, they still exist: in a classroom, in the middle of a match, chasing after a word. In the shadow of ruins, hands rebuilding hope? This is the story of teachers who do more than just teach – as they build lives – and of children who exist through their voice.

Didem Tütüncü (Turkey, 1993) was born in Izmir and completed her studies in International Relations, Performative Arts, Cinema and Advertising. She worked in different fields of cinema and media. With her documentary Al Ula, she became the first Turkish director to ever shoot a documentary in Saudi Arabia. She received numerous international awards for her short films and documentaries in countries such as Turkey, Estonia, Romania, Canada, the UK and the US.
