Lina is a Moldovan movie director. When she was a kid, her father moved to northern Italy to work and never came back. Their relationship is interrupted. Only recently Pavel shows up to his daughter, sending her a video message in which he shows his arms, devastated by bruises, and asking for help. Together with her partner and colleague Radu, Lina embarks on a road trip to reach his father. She doesn’t want to be alone the moment she meets him again. Pavel works in a factory and as a custodian at the villa owned by his boss, who mistreats him in every way he can. Pavel wants his daughter to help him document the abuses he suffered to file a lawsuit. Lina accepts, but at the same time she recalls the violence her father perpetrated in the family. A wound that never healed. A chain that must be broken.

Radu Ciorniciuc (Romania) is a director, producer and journalist. In 2012, along with his colleagues, he founded the first independent news agency in Romania called Casa Jurnalistului. Acasa, My Home represents his first long feature documentary film.

Lina Vdovii (Moldova), Moldovan independent journalist, lives in Romania where she is involved in investigative, narrative and new media journalism. In 2020, she wrote the screenplay for Acasa, My Home by Radu Ciorniciuc. Tata represents her debut in movie direction.
