Ayu, an elementary school teacher, begins teaching online when his 5-year-old son Adit accidentally locks himself in his room. Torn between her duty toward her students and her urge to help her son, she needs to find balance between her roles as mother and teacher.

Alicya Iskandar (Indonesia, 2004) studies Cinema at the BINUS University. Ms. Ayu’s Mishaps represents the first short film she has written and directed. She formerly produced two short films, Offering or Tumbal (2022) and Xuanzé (2024). She also participated in the production of training videos for the platform Merdeka Mengajar (Freedom to teach), owned by the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.
